RIDE 2010 - 2011

Patagonia, is a wonderful part of the world!   It is not only about wilderness, vast expanses, it is also about ecology, clear water lakes, people of the land, natural forests...
Riding in Patagonia is a way to get closer to nature, to venture into the woods, to follow a stream, to enjoy a good meal under the stars…

When you are not riding you can take a walk, relax by the river with a good book, try your luck fly fishing or go shopping in the village.

If you would like to come riding with us this is our proposal:

Day 1,
Arrive in San Martin de los Andes.  Depending on the time of arrival we will have lunch.
During the afternoon we will go on a ride, getting to know the horses.
Spend the night in a lodge, warm shower and good bed.

Day 2:
After breakfast we will pick you up and we will go to Lolog for a day riding.  Picnic lunch, a short siesta and return to the house where drinks and a barbecue will be waiting for us.
Spend the night in a lodge, warm shower and good bed.

Day 3:
After breakfast we will start our journey, driving for about 2 hours north, the landscape will change from rolling to steep steppe, cattle farming to sheer rock.   The horses will be waiting for us to start our ride.
During the afternoon we will try the new horses and ride along the river, returning to the Estancia for drinks and dinner.
Spend the night at the Estancia..

Day 4:
Today we will go on a full day ride with a picnic lunch, in the evening we will return to the Estancia for dinner
Spend the night at the Estancia.

Day 5:
Departure to San Martin de los Andes from where you continue your travels.

Or we can continue with a further 2 nights into the Cordillera de los Andes before returning to San Martin de los Andes.

Day 5:
After breakfast we will leave the estancia on a trail ride to some cabins on the river Alumine.   We will take our picnic and stop for lunch next to a stream and in the shade of some trees.   It is a full day ride (8 hours riding), crossing long water meadows, and passing by strange rock formations and getting closer to the Cordillera de los Andes, the higher mountains as we ride west till we get to the Alumine river.
Spend the night in some cabins next to the river.

Day 6:

Today we will go on a full day ride with a picnic lunch, in the evening we will arrive at our camp site.
Our ride will take us further west, into some really interesting monkey puzzle and nothafagus forests.   Untouched and splendid, these trees are full of a strange magic that you will understand when you see them.
A special dinner will be waiting for us and a night spent under the stars.

Day 7:

After breakfast start our last day ride on the trail before we return to San Martin de los Andes for a last night dinner.
Our aim in this program is that every day takes you through a changing landscape and something new, today will be different, the forest is mixed, the Lanin Volcano is always present and yet it is different.   Our last destination is an Indian reservation where a truck will be waiting for us.   Our horses return to the estancia and we will drive back to San Martin de los Andes.
A special dinner for tonight is our last night and you will be staying at the hosteria.

We can also organize for many more days, our trips are tailor made to your dates.
